Lily Tomlin earns Emmy nomination for work on Damages

Lily Tomlin has been nominated for an Emmy Award for ‘Outstanding Guest Actress In A Drama Series’ for her role as Marilyn Tobin in the Damages “Your Secrets Are Safe” episode, which airs on FX.

If she wins, this will be her sixth Emmy Award, as she won for ‘Outstanding Variety, Music or Comedy Series’ in 1973, ‘74, ’76, ’78 and ’81.

Tomlin’s competition for this year’s Emmy Award is: Mary Kay Place (as Adaleen Grant) on Big Love; Sissy Spacek (as Marilyn Densham) on Big Love; Shirley Jones (as Lola Zellman) on The Cleaner; Ann-Margret (as Rita Wells) on Law & Order; and Elizabeth Mitchell (as Juliet Burke) on Lost.

The 62nd annual Emmy Awards airs on NBC on Aug. 29 at 5 p.m. PT.

Lily Tomlin: on tour
